The rebranding process has been much more than colors, fonts, logos and even website design.
I felt like in many ways, it was a rebranding of myself as a solopreneur. Due to my personal circumstances, I have been doing a lot of self reflection but looking at myself from the lens of a business owner puts a whole new perspective on how I show up.
I created Feel Empowered Every Day as a means to share with others who feel undervalued by themselves, others or often both how to see themselves from an unbiased viewpoint. We tend to let the opinions of others determine much of our sense of self. And we try to find comfort in life by attempting to live up to them. Even though I had spent the last 6 months working with a wonderful business coach and made many breakthroughs with her, I still wasn’t quite where I wanted to be. She gave me direction on what to work on but it turns out I needed someone to help me see my services from an unbiased viewpoint.
Sometimes we need something more tangible to guide us to our authentic selves. Sometimes we find things and people we need without looking for them or even knowing we actually need them.
The Connection
This is exactly what happen with Lamora Coons. I was scrolling through Facebook and answered a question posed on one of the service based business groups I belong to when the connection was made. We hopped on a quick call, she asked more questions that piqued my interest and my intrigue led me to take advantage of her knowledge. I started with her introductory offer which consisted of a deep dive interview so she could get to know me, how I operate, who I serve, my desires, mission and passions. Then she presented a brief which consisted of a depiction of my business as if I had written it myself while being laced with suggestions, directions and guidance I had not seen in that way myself.
I was so blown away by the level she understood me that I wanted more. So I trusted myself enough to loosen the reigns of control to trust her to help me get where I want to be. And she more than delivered. I can now move forward more confidently.
The Experience
I liken the experience to how my clients tell me they feel after working with me. Of course you know yourself going in, just as I know my business but only to a certain level. We work to improve many areas of life and take on others’ help to get us there, why not with ourselves both personally and professionally as well? You never know what will come of the experience, such as the epiphany I had in this rebranding process.
The Epiphany
We were discussing how I struggle with being succinct and direct with my messaging and all of the sudden the reason why hit me. I have written about how I so often felt the need to rationalize, justify and over explain my thoughts, feelings and actions in the past, but I didn’t put together how that insecurity showed up in my work. Even though we have now become aware of something and have come to terms with it, we think it’s resolved and shouldn’t cause us issues anymore. But that’s not always the case. Once we have bought into something in the past, it can be difficult to fully let it go going forward. This is just another reason why using services and tools available to help us bust through our mental obstacles is so important in order to grow. It’s about learning to find balance between that fine line of finding value in another’s perspective and guidance while still honoring who we are and how we do things best authentically for ourselves. Because I know, understand, accept and embrace my personal strengths I now live within that balance and you can too. Find out how HERE
